{"id":8655,"date":"2020-08-04T15:06:20","date_gmt":"2020-08-04T20:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/candorhealthed.org\/?p=8655"},"modified":"2020-08-04T15:06:20","modified_gmt":"2020-08-04T20:06:20","slug":"talking-to-our-teens-about-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/candorhealthed.org\/es\/talking-to-our-teens-about-drugs\/","title":{"rendered":"Hablar de drogas con los adolescentes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Como educadora sanitaria, la pregunta m\u00e1s frecuente que me hacen los adultos es \"\u00bfc\u00f3mo hablo con mi hijo adolescente sobre las drogas?\".<\/p>\n<p>Una de las tareas m\u00e1s importantes en torno a estas conversaciones es prepararnos adecuadamente para tenerlas.  Hay todo tipo de drogas en el mundo e investigar sobre todas ellas puede resultar abrumador y, para muchos, imposible.  Un buen punto de partida es recopilar informaci\u00f3n sobre una droga espec\u00edfica que pueda estar afectando a una familia\/comunidad o simplemente sobre las drogas de las que m\u00e1s abusan los adolescentes, que en muchas comunidades son el alcohol, la marihuana, la nicotina (vaporizadores, cigarrillos, etc.) y los medicamentos con receta.  Contar con conocimientos previos s\u00f3lo puede ayudar a proporcionar la informaci\u00f3n pertinente y, al mismo tiempo, capacitar a los adolescentes para que tomen decisiones saludables en relaci\u00f3n con estas sustancias.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8656\" src=\"https:\/\/candorhealthed.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/JUUL-image-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Una vez recopilada esta informaci\u00f3n, organice conversaciones (no sermones) sobre los efectos f\u00edsicos y mentales que pueden tener las drogas a corto y largo plazo.  T\u00f3mese su tiempo para determinar qu\u00e9 moral y qu\u00e9 expectativas tiene para su hijo y c\u00f3mo se las comunicar\u00e1 claramente.  Adem\u00e1s, prep\u00e1rate para que te hagan preguntas dif\u00edciles y date cuenta de que no vas a tener todas las respuestas inmediatamente a tu disposici\u00f3n.  No ser un \"sabelotodo\" tiene su valor, lo que puede demostrar a los j\u00f3venes que eres capaz y est\u00e1s dispuesto a aprender cosas con ellos.  Los padres son la mayor influencia en la vida de un adolescente y mantener regularmente estas conversaciones con franqueza, empat\u00eda y apoyo ser\u00e1 de gran ayuda.<\/p>\n<p>La Asociaci\u00f3n para Ni\u00f1os Libres de Drogas (Partnership for Drug-Free Kids) ofrece dos consejos importantes para hablar con tu hijo adolescente y romper las barreras de la comunicaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Elige un buen momento y un buen lugar: Escoge bloques de tiempo, quiz\u00e1 de camino al colegio o de vuelta. Den un paseo o conduzcan juntos, con menos contacto visual, su hijo adolescente no se sentir\u00e1 como si estuviera bajo un microscopio.  Yo he tenido las discusiones m\u00e1s productivas con mis hijos adolescentes en el coche.<\/li>\n<li>Recuerda que su cerebro a\u00fan se est\u00e1 desarrollando:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Una de las primeras partes del cerebro en desarrollarse plenamente es la am\u00edgdala, que influye en la experimentaci\u00f3n de las emociones. El c\u00f3rtex prefrontal, responsable de la toma de decisiones de alto nivel, la resoluci\u00f3n de problemas y la elaboraci\u00f3n de estrategias, no se desarrolla plenamente hasta los 25 a\u00f1os, aproximadamente, ya que el cerebro humano se desarrolla de atr\u00e1s hacia delante.<\/p>\n<p>Esto puede ayudar (a adolescentes y adultos) a comprender mejor por qu\u00e9 los j\u00f3venes toman a veces las decisiones que toman.  En tiempos de prisas, los adolescentes a menudo conf\u00edan en su Am\u00edgdala (emociones) m\u00e1s que en su Corteza Prefrontal (consecuencias) para tomar decisiones.  Esto no es en absoluto una excusa para el comportamiento, sino m\u00e1s bien una oportunidad para educar a nuestros j\u00f3venes y ayudarles a tomarse el tiempo necesario para evaluar los resultados antes de tomar decisiones.<\/p>\n<p>En el pasado, muchos programas antidroga dec\u00edan a los ni\u00f1os que \"simplemente dijeran no\", pero con el tiempo nos hemos dado cuenta de que, adem\u00e1s de decir \"no\", necesitamos que nuestros j\u00f3venes tambi\u00e9n \"sepan\".   No s\u00f3lo necesitan informaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica sobre las drogas, sino tambi\u00e9n herramientas como la capacidad de tomar decisiones y fijar objetivos, y estrategias personales y sociales que puedan utilizar en situaciones de riesgo para llevar una vida sana.<\/p>\n<p>Hay muchos libros escritos para ayudar a padres y adolescentes a comprender los peligros de las drogas.
