TEEN SEXUAL HEALTH I – Grades 7-8

Take a look at a short video for an overview of our Teen Sexual Health I program:

Our Teen Sexual Health I program delivers clear, factual information about sexuality and its potential risks through an engaging, story-based approach. Grounded in science, the curriculum covers forms of sexual contact, teen pregnancy, contraception, and the signs and consequences of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It also creates space for thoughtful discussions around identity, values, consent, healthy communication, and gender. Through guided activities and reflection, students are encouraged to recognize their own strengths and develop the skills needed to make safe, informed, and responsible choices about their sexual health.

Providing students with accurate, age-appropriate information about sexuality equips them to make healthier, more informed choices now and in the future. By addressing topics like consent, identity, and communication, students gain a stronger sense of self, build respect for others, and learn how to navigate relationships with empathy and confidence. Understanding the risks and responsibilities associated with sexual activity helps reduce misinformation, lowers the risk of unintended consequences, and encourages personal accountability. This education fosters a safer, more supportive environment for all students as they move through adolescence.

Program Goals:
Students will…

  1. recognize that the decisions they make can impact their sexual health
  2. identify the powers they possess to make decisions about their sexual health
  3. understand sexual intercourse and its relationship to human reproduction
  4. understand STIs, how they are transmitted and ways to minimize risk of transmission
